ATTENDANCE POLICY

Each student will be allowed 5 sick days, with a Doctor's excuse.  Sick days must be made up.  Students will be granted only one Leave of Absence (LOA) for their entire program of study.  The student must request the LOA in writing in advance.  During a LOA, the student will not be marked absent, as this is not scheduled time.  Leaves of absence may be granted to the student for reasonable purposes acceptable to the School Director but may not exceed the lesser of 30 school days or 60 calendar days.  The School shall maintain attendance records that show the dates for which the LOA was granted with a written statement signed by both the School Director and the student indicating why the LOA was granted.  If the student fails to return from the LOA, the student will be automatically terminated on the first day immediately following the end of the LOA, and a refund shall be totally consummated within 60 days thereafter.  The School shall maintain a master record of attendance for each student which clearly indicates the number of scheduled hours each day, and the hours of absence.  A student must attend 12 weeks, five days per week or 480 hours.

All students must attend Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM.  The student is allowed a 30 minute lunch break  If a student is unable to come to class, they must call in before 8:00 AM.  An absence of 9 consecutive days (or 72 hours, which is 15% of the full term hours) without notification, will be considered cause for termination.  Class begins promptly at 8:00 AM.  Tardiness will be unacceptable behavior. Time will be calculated by the quarter hour and reflect on the 480 hours.

Absence shall be charged for a full day when the student attends none of the scheduled classes on that day.  A partial day of absence, measured in quarter hours, shall be charged for any period of absence during or at the end of the day.  School  Holidays shall not be considered as days of absence.  Any student whose absences met or exceed the following limits prior to the final quarter of the student's course will be terminated upon the happening of the following?

(1) Absence of more than 10 consecutive School days.

(2) Absences of more than 15% of the 480 total hours in the program.
Absences may not be removed by make-up work.
